Elden Ring Map and Locations
On this page
The map starts mostly blank. Each region is revealed by a map fragment — a glowing stone pillar you can see from a distance, usually standing beside a road. Touch it and the details of that region appear: terrain, Sites of Grace you have visited, and the markers you have placed yourself.
What the map shows you
| Marker | What it means |
|---|---|
| Golden Site of Grace icon | A grace you have already found |
| Glowing point without an icon | A landmark or grace you have not reached yet |
| Player-placed marker | A beacon you set yourself, up to a limited number |
| NPC icon | Someone whose questline has moved them to a new place |
The blank areas are information too. A region with no terrain shown has not been opened yet, which usually means the fragment pillar is somewhere along the main road through it.
Using the map to plan a route
The most useful habit is to drop a marker on a place you have seen but not reached — a tower, a stone arch, a patch of unusual colour — and travel towards it later. Markers survive death and travel, so you can build a short list of places to investigate.
If you are stuck on a boss, look at what you have already unlocked. There is usually an untouched ruin, cave, or tower within reach of your current Sites of Grace, and those are where upgrade materials and talismans come from.
The location finder below
The finder lists regions, Sites of Grace, merchants, and legacy dungeons you can mark as found. It stores your progress in this browser only, so it survives a page reload but not a different device.
