How to fast travel
On this page
Fast travel starts from the map. Open it, move the cursor to a Site of Grace you have already discovered, and confirm the travel option. You can do this from anywhere except inside a boss arena and while an active combat state is running.
How it works in practice
Every Site of Grace you touch is added to the map permanently, which is why touching each one as you pass is worth the detour. The map also records the sites you have not visited as glowing points, so you can see where the next stretch of a region begins before you commit to it.
If you open the map inside a legacy dungeon and the travel option is missing, walk out of the arena or rest at a Site of Grace first. The same applies while an invader or a co-op partner is present.
Using travel to shorten a route
Travel is not just for going home. Two habits save a lot of time:
- Before a boss attempt, touch the closest Site of Grace so a failed attempt costs a short ride rather than a long walk.
- When you want to search a region, travel to the site at its edge and work inwards, rather than back-tracking from where you happen to be.
The Roundtable Hold and other exceptions
The Roundtable Hold is reached by fast travel rather than by walking, and its Site of Grace appears on the map once the hub unlocks. A few story moments temporarily block travel, and the game will tell you when that happens.
Fast travel does not reset the world the way resting does. If you want a boss arena’s spirits or summons to reset, rest at the Site of Grace itself rather than travelling away and back.
