Season synopsis

Moordale starts the year branded “Sex School”, and new head teacher Hope Haddon imposes strict uniforms, public discipline and sanitized lessons to repair its reputation. Otis has quit the clinic and begins a casual relationship with Ruby. It grows more serious as he meets her guarded father, but when Ruby says she loves him, Otis cannot say it back and they split. Maeve remains distant from Otis after Isaac erased his voicemail; she and Isaac become closer, even as her unresolved feelings for Otis persist.
Hope’s rules prompt students to resist, and Maeve finally learns what Otis said in the erased message. They talk honestly and kiss, though their relationship remains unsettled. Aimee works with a therapist after her assault and confronts the bus stop that has become a source of fear; she also ends her relationship with Steve to focus on recovery. Eric and Adam become a couple, but Eric’s trip to Nigeria exposes him to a more open queer community. He kisses another man at a club and later says he would not undo it, while Adam is still learning to express himself and perform without shame.
A student protest challenges Hope’s campaign, and the investors withdraw support; Moordale is sold to developers, leaving the students without a school for the next term. Jean survives a difficult birth and meets her daughter Joy, but a paternity test later shows Jakob is not the father. Eric and Adam separate because they are moving at different speeds. Maeve’s mother Erin pays for her place on a writing program in America, and Aimee urges her to accept. Maeve and Otis acknowledge their feelings and agree to see where they stand when she returns, then part as she leaves.
