Episode 6

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Hope reacts to the trouble in France by making an example of Adam, Lily and Cal. She brings them before the school wearing signs that describe their supposed offenses, confiscates their phones and forbids other students from speaking to them. Rahim is suspended when he objects. Viv discovers that Hope values her appearance as head girl more than her ideas, and she records their conversation about the students' concerns. The recording spreads among the pupils, exposing the contempt behind Hope's promises. Maeve receives an offer for the American program but is still unsure what to do about her feelings for Otis and Isaac.

When Elsie goes missing, Maeve needs practical help rather than another romantic argument. Otis and Isaac both come to support her, but their confrontation reveals the kiss in France and leaves Maeve angry at being made the center of their rivalry. Aimee continues therapy with Jean and hears that she did not cause the assault by smiling or being friendly. Michael, meanwhile, searches for something he enjoys beyond his former role at school. In Nigeria, Eric meets Oba at a family wedding and follows him to a queer club. The experience lets Eric feel at home in a way he had not expected, and he kisses Oba. The next morning, Eric and his mother discuss the cost of hiding parts of themselves from their family.
