The students plan to use Moordale's open day to expose Hope's treatment of them. Viv, Jackson and Cal work with Otis, Eric and others on a presentation that replaces the school's polished message with a public rejection of shame. Hope confines Cal to her office and tries to stop the display, but the students continue, with Ruby intervening when Hope attempts to switch it off. Lily stays home, crushed by her humiliation and throwing away the belongings that once expressed her imagination. Otis visits her afterward and encourages her to keep the parts of herself she has been pressured to abandon.
Maeve and Aimee travel to find Erin and Elsie at the coast. Maeve persuades her mother to let Elsie return to Anna, ending the immediate search without repairing the family's hurt. The friends also reconcile after their argument about the trip. Eric tells Adam that he kissed someone in Nigeria, leaving Adam devastated. Jean goes into labor early while Jakob is attending therapy, where he discusses the betrayal and grief connected to his first marriage. He reaches the hospital for their daughter's birth, but Jean then becomes seriously unwell and staff rush to help her. Unaware of the emergency, Otis tells Maeve that he wants her in his life and that the clinic mattered beyond money. They kiss as his phone rings unanswered.
