Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
At term’s start, Otis is dating Ola and has stopped the clinic, while Maeve is readmitted after her expulsion. She reconnects with her mother Erin, who says she is in recovery, and meets her young half-sister Elsie. A chlamydia outbreak brings Jean to Moordale as its sex therapist. Otis resents her presence and hides his feelings for Maeve; his relationship with Ola falters when he cannot explain his anxiety about sex. Aimee is assaulted on her bus ride and accepts help as the experience disrupts her routine.
Maeve relies on Isaac while investigating Erin’s drug use and trying to protect Elsie. At school, Jackson regains confidence with Viv’s help in the musical, and Ola and Lily discover they are attracted to each other. Eric dates Rahim but still has unresolved feelings about Adam, who returns from military school. Otis’s drunken party outburst damages his friendships with Maeve and Ola and his relationship with Jean. Conversations with Ola and his estranged father Remi make him confront how he has behaved and the dishonesty he fears inheriting.
Jean learns she is pregnant. As Maeve appears on television competing in the quiz, Otis leaves her a voicemail saying he is proud of her and loves her. Her team wins the national final, but social services remove Elsie after Maeve reports Erin’s relapse, and Erin blames her. At the school musical, Adam interrupts to tell Eric he wants to hold his hand; Eric accepts. Later, Otis goes to Maeve’s home, where Isaac conceals that she has only gone out for milk. After Otis leaves, Isaac deletes the message before she can hear it. Maeve remains unaware of Otis’s confession as the season ends.
