Episode 4

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Ola suggests that she and Otis become more intimate, and he responds by planning their next evening in detail. His preparations collide with Maeve's request that he look after Elsie while she competes with the quiz team. Otis tries to manage childcare and clinic appointments at once, briefly losing Elsie before she is found in Groff's office. Maeve wins the competition round but irritates her teammates by answering without consulting them. Her relief at finding her sister turns into a confession to Otis: seeing him with Ola is painful because she has feelings for him. He is hurt by the timing.

Jean listens as Maureen describes the lack of affection in her marriage, then has her own complicated evening when Remi returns unexpectedly. Drinking with her former husband leads to a kiss that stops when Otis arrives home. Otis's planned night with Ola also falls apart after he checks a message from Maeve. Ola demands that he stop seeing Maeve if he wants their relationship to continue. Eric secretly spends time with Adam and kisses him, while Rahim asks Eric to become his boyfriend. At school, Florence finds that Jean understands her lack of sexual attraction better than Otis did. The conversation about asexuality reassures her that wanting romance does not make her feelings contradictory or broken.
