Season synopsis

Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson open a small law firm in Hell’s Kitchen and take on cases that bigger offices ignore. Their first case is defending Karen Page, a Union Allied employee framed for her colleague’s murder after she uncovers pension-fund fraud. She stays with the firm as its secretary while Matt investigates at night as the masked vigilante and Karen and Foggy follow the paper trail by day. That trail leads to Wilson Fisk, whose promise to rebuild the neighbourhood hides a criminal alliance with Russian, Chinese, Japanese and American operators.
Fisk’s effort to control Hell’s Kitchen turns personal when tenant Elena Cardenas resists an illegal buyout. Matt cannot protect her from Fisk’s hired killer, and her death shakes the firm’s belief that legal work alone can stop him. The masked Matt also faces Nobu, Fisk’s Japanese ally, in a fight that leaves Nobu burning and Matt badly injured. Fisk then beats the wounded vigilante, but Matt escapes. Foggy discovers Matt’s identity, and the revelation strains their friendship just as their investigation closes in on Fisk.
Karen keeps digging with journalist Ben Urich, while Fisk’s lieutenant James Wesley takes her captive; Karen shoots Wesley to get free. Ben plans to publish his investigation, but Fisk kills him in his apartment. The loss brings Matt, Foggy and Karen back together. Federal agents move against Fisk, but his men break him out of custody. Matt puts on the red suit Melvin Potter made for him, stops Fisk’s armed men, and defeats Fisk in a final fight. Fisk is taken to prison, while Matt accepts the name Daredevil and the work ahead in Hell’s Kitchen.
