Mortal Shell II Blackmarrow Key at Child's Feeding Grounds

One Blackmarrow Key is in the chamber behind the Ova at Child’s Feeding Grounds. Defeat The Lost Child, enter the new Beacon’s dungeon, and check behind the Ova before collecting them.

Unlock Child’s Feeding Grounds

Complete the Lost Child encounter at the end of Sanguine Caverns. The Child’s Feeding Grounds Beacon appears after the victory. Rest there and choose Cleanse Beacon to enter.

This guide covers that specific key. Other Blackmarrow Keys come from different places, so a route to The Collector or an Abbey chest will not bring you to this room.

Find the room behind the Ova

1. Follow the passage through the Beacon dungeon. Pass through the chamber with the large roots hanging overhead.
2. Continue until you reach the pale, glowing Ova arranged around the room.
3. Walk past the Ova into the chamber behind them. You can reach this chest before collecting the Ova.
4. Open the bone chest in the candlelit circular room. The pickup notification should read Blackmarrow Key.
5. After collecting the key, return to finish the dungeon and claim the Ova.

Do the chest detour first. Collecting the Ova returns you to Marrow Keep; if you have already done that, travel back to Child’s Feeding Grounds and re-enter the dungeon to check the chest.

What the key opens

Blackmarrow Keys unlock Shell Shade chests in Marrow Keep’s elevator room. Shades change a Shell’s appearance. Choose the chest for the Shell you want before using your key, because opening a chest consumes one.
