Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
After learning Chuck kept him from a job at HHM, Jimmy nearly abandons law, but Kim persuades him to accept a position with Davis & Main, the firm handling Sandpiper. He quickly chafes at its rules: without approval, he makes a television ad to attract more plaintiffs to the case, angering his new employer and Chuck. Kim has meanwhile brought Mesa Verde Bank to HHM, but Howard keeps her in document review. She leaves to start a practice with Jimmy, and the pair share office space while representing separate clients.
Kim wins Mesa Verde as her own client after leaving HHM, but Chuck persuades the bank to return to his firm. Jimmy secretly changes the address in Mesa Verde’s filings from 1216 to 1261. Chuck presents the altered documents in court and gives the wrong address, sending the client back to Kim and prompting Chuck to investigate the copy shop. The clerk refuses to identify Jimmy, but Chuck grows distressed among the machines and collapses. Jimmy rushes to help and stays with him at the hospital, hiding that he had bribed the clerk.
Mike’s efforts to protect his family pull him further into the Salamanca operation. He helps Nacho get Tuco arrested rather than killed, then tries to stop Hector’s operation with a sniper rifle. An unexplained warning makes Mike abandon the shot. At home, Chuck appears to accept his mistake and tells Howard he is leaving HHM. When Jimmy visits to ask why, Chuck accuses him of the Mesa Verde fraud. Jimmy confesses to changing the documents, unaware Chuck is recording him. The season closes with Chuck keeping that confession as evidence and Mike’s conflict with Hector unresolved.
