In Omaha, Gene Takavic works the closing shift at a Cinnabon and gets locked in the mall’s dumpster room. He waits to avoid an alarm and police attention, scratching “SG WAS HERE” on the wall. Back in Albuquerque, Jimmy McGill receives an offer to join Davis & Main, but turns it down and checks into a hotel under an assumed name.
Kim Wexler confronts Jimmy about his choice. He admits that Chuck’s rejection has drained much of his reason for becoming a lawyer, then draws Kim into a con against Ken, a loud businessman they meet at a bar. Ken pays their expensive tequila bill, and Kim spends the night with Jimmy, but she rejects making cons a routine.
Jimmy changes his mind about Davis & Main and finds the job comes with a company car and the cocobolo desk he wanted. In his new office, he spots a switch marked never to turn off, flips it, and waits for a consequence that never comes. Mike, meanwhile, refuses to keep working for Pryce after warning him that handling Nacho alone is dangerous. Pryce dismisses him, and Nacho uses the Hummer’s papers to uncover his identity and address. Later, Pryce reports stolen baseball cards to police, who find an emptied hiding place and question his conspicuous wealth.
