A Quick Bite
Lissianna Argeneau has spent centuries looking for the right man rather than a quick meal, and she has an awkward problem for a vampire: she faints at the sight of blood.
About
A Quick Bite is a paranormal romance by the Canadian writer Lynsay Sands, published by Avon in 2005. It is the first of the Argeneau novels, and it plays the conventions of vampire romance for comedy as much as for heat.
Lissianna Argeneau has spent centuries hoping for the right man instead of settling for a quick meal, and she carries a trait that is inconvenient in a vampire: the sight of blood makes her faint. Her long life and her mother's patience have both run thin, and she has reached the point where her relatives are willing to interfere directly in her love life.
Their solution puts an unconscious doctor named Gregory Hewitt in Lissianna's bed as a gift. He comes round to find a stranger in the room who seems to have plans for the evening, and he has to work out whether he is meant to be her future or merely her dinner. Lissianna's mother, the wider family and the politics of a large vampire household all get a say in the answer.
