Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Steven Grant, a London museum-shop worker, loses time and wakes far from where he last remembers. His blackouts connect him to Marc Spector, a mercenary and avatar of moon god Khonshu, and draw him into Arthur Harrow's hunt for a scarab. Harrow serves Ammit, whose followers judge people for future crimes. Marc's wife Layla joins the search, which runs from London to Cairo as Harrow seeks Ammit's tomb.
At an Ennead hearing, Harrow denies Khonshu and Marc's warning. Hathor's avatar gives Marc a clue to an ancient star map. Khonshu turns back the night sky so Steven and Layla can read it, then the other gods imprison him. In Ammit's tomb, Steven retrieves her ushabti from Alexander the Great's body. Harrow accuses Marc of killing Layla's father; Marc admits his partner was the killer before Harrow shoots him. On Taweret's boat in the Duat, memories show Marc's brother drowning and his mother's abuse; Marc created Steven to survive it. They reconcile, but Steven falls overboard as Marc reaches the Field of Reeds.
Marc leaves the Field of Reeds to find Steven; reunited, they return to life through the Gates of Osiris. Layla frees Khonshu, becomes Taweret's avatar and joins Moon Knight against Harrow and Ammit. Before the fight, Khonshu agrees to release Marc and Steven if they defeat Ammit. They trap her inside Harrow; when Khonshu orders Marc to kill them, Marc refuses and demands release. The mid-credits scene reveals Jake Lockley, a third identity serving Khonshu: Jake drives Harrow away in a limousine and shoots him.
