How to Get Swift Step in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Reach the northern Deep Docks spire

Swift Step unlocks Hornet’s dash and sprint. You get it by using Bind at the Weaver Burial Spire in northern Deep Docks. The approach starts at Shakra’s chamber near the entrance from The Marrow and loops east, up and back west to the spire.

If you have just entered Deep Docks, rest at the bench above the first lift. Ride down and leave to the right to reach the chamber where Shakra sings.

1. Climb above Shakra. Use the platforms and switches to reach the top of her chamber, then leave through the upper-right exit.
2. Follow the hot-floor room east. Drop to the lower route in the next room and keep heading right. When you reach the long orange Flintstone floor, jump repeatedly across it. Staying on it burns you; the liquid lava pools are a separate hazard. Watch for falling rocks as you cross.
3. Open the ceiling at the far end. Climb the platforms on the right to the orange explosive node. Strike it, drop away from the blast, then climb through the new opening.
4. Rest before the ant gauntlet. There is a bench to the right beyond the opening; unlocking it costs 30 Rosaries if you have not paid already. Resting is optional, but gives you a closer return point. Leave the bench room and climb past the red flying enemies. At the top, the right-hand passage is blocked, so turn left into the ant gauntlet on the edge of Hunter’s March. Defeat the enemies to open the way through.
5. Loop left and down to the spire. Leave the arena on the left and descend carefully past the spikes. At the bottom, the explosive rock to the right opens a shortcut toward the bench. The spire is to your left; continue that way to the large ribbed structure shown below.

Bind at the Weaver Burial Spire

Stand at the Weaver’s body and use Bind. The Swift Step ability prompt confirms the unlock. You can now use the dash and sprint inputs below.

Use dash and sprint

Move	Input
Ground or air dash	Tap Sprint.
Sprint and longer jump	Hold Sprint on the ground, then jump. Add an air dash to extend the crossing.
Downward air dash	Hold Down and tap Sprint while airborne. Holding Sprint keeps the downward dash going until you release it.
Run-slash	Press Attack while sprinting or dashing. The move depends on your equipped Crest.

Use the action named Sprint in your control settings; the button depends on your platform and bindings. Practise the sprint-jump and air dash on open ground before taking another long gap.
