After the warehouse fire, Joon-woo orders Han-seo to conceal the arson and report an electrical fault. Vincenzo and Cha-young celebrate, then choose Babel Chemicals as their next target. Cha-young knows where to look from her years at Wusang, while Vincenzo begins to suspect that the public chairman is answering to someone else. Their legal case centres on sick workers and the doctors helping Babel deny responsibility for their exposure to dangerous substances.
Monk Chaeshin's friend Lee U-yeong becomes a personal link to those workers when his condition worsens and he is diagnosed with leukaemia. Medical director Gil Jong-moon dismisses any connection to Babel's workplace practices. Jipuragi also has to overcome the victims' existing lawyer, who benefits from protecting the company. Cha-young records incriminating material, and Vincenzo empties the lawyer's hidden safe, replacing the money with a donation receipt. They force him to withdraw so Jipuragi can represent the families.
Myung-hee visits the new partnership and grows increasingly suspicious of Vincenzo's clean background and recognisable voice. At the plaza, he drives away Seok-do's men when they harass Chef Toto, then pays for the dishes broken in the fight. The tenants now have a practical reason to support him. On the day of the hearing, they stage a protest outside the courthouse while Cha-young and Vincenzo arrive together. The pair intend to disrupt a trial already tilted towards Babel and give themselves time to fight it properly.
