The tenants join Vincenzo against Kim's men, using their different fighting skills to clear the plaza. Cha-young strikes Kim herself. The empty vault is then explained: the monks discovered the entrance after feeling electrical shocks, and Vincenzo enlisted their help to move the gold gradually. Mi-ri helped defeat the security system. Vincenzo has also settled the immediate Italian problem with a financial agreement, allowing him to remain beside Jipuragi for the fight against Babel.
The residents win their court case after Vincenzo presents recordings of Babel's corrupt dealings. Han-seo begins changing the company's practices, but his older brother remains dangerous in prison. Vincenzo warns him to leave Korea for his own safety; Han-seo refuses because he chose this fight knowing its risks. Myung-hee then takes responsibility for Babel's crimes to secure Han-seok's secret release. Vincenzo separately kills prosecutor Jung by throwing him from a building after his repeated betrayals.
Han-seok uses his freedom to seize Cha-young and knock Han-seo unconscious. Bloodied jewellery delivered to Vincenzo makes the threat clear, and he goes to the place where both are held. Han-seok orders his brother to beat Vincenzo with a hockey stick, but Han-seo strikes Han-seok instead. Vincenzo frees Cha-young while the brothers struggle. When Han-seok aims his gun at Vincenzo, Cha-young moves into the line of fire and is shot. The confrontation ends with her collapsing before Vincenzo, while the struggle around them is still unresolved.
