Vincenzo's apparent defeat at the ice rink is a trap arranged with Han-seo. The story about killing the Interpol officers is a cover for Babel; the real exchange gives them information about Paolo's crimes and gets the arrest threat removed. Jipuragi returns to its case against Babel, while Vincenzo frightens Seung-hyuk into arranging Han-seok's imprisonment. Han-seok thinks a cell offers protection from the people pursuing him, but Vincenzo visits to explain who put him there.
With Han-seok contained, Luca brings a problem from Italy: the Cassano family needs Vincenzo's help, and he prepares to leave for two weeks. The tenants send him off with gifts, while Cha-young accompanies him to the airport and asks him to stay safe. Their farewell leaves Jipuragi to prepare the Babel lawsuit during his absence. Cho, meanwhile, faces pressure from the political fixer Kim, who wants the gold and Guillotine File beneath the plaza.
Kim's men seize Mi-ri and force her to open the vault, holding Cho and the monks at the temple. The room is empty, giving the intruders neither the treasure nor the information they expected. Mi-ri escapes into the corridor, where Cha-young shields her while Joo-sung goes for help. Just as the men close in, Vincenzo returns and stops an attack on Cha-young. He declares the residents his family and prepares to fight, leaving the intruders facing the man they thought had already left Korea.
