Accused of President Oh's murder, Vincenzo fights his way past the detectives and escapes with Mr. Tak. Cha-young and the plaza allies help track the actual perpetrators and bring evidence to the police. The attempt to frame Vincenzo instead exposes a Wusang lawyer's involvement. The danger at Geumga Plaza continues when a planted gas leak threatens the building during a celebration. An unexpected call to the fire service helps prevent the attack from killing the tenants.
Han-seo admits that he made the call against his brother's orders, earning a place in Vincenzo's team. Vincenzo also spends a rare peaceful outing with Oh Gyeong-ja and Cha-young. Mother and son speak about the years they lost without quite saying everything aloud, and their embrace gives him reason to return and finally call her his mother. Han-seok and Myung-hee, however, have found the person whose death will hurt him most.
A killer enters Gyeong-ja's hospital room disguised as a nurse and strangles her. Vincenzo passes him on the stairs before discovering the commotion around his mother's bed. He asks Cha-young to stay beside her, identifies the murderer through security footage and tracks him down. The interrogation ends at Han-seok's home, where Myung-hee and the others are gathered. Vincenzo shoots his mother's killer in front of them and keeps his gun raised towards the people responsible, abandoning the restraint that had limited his earlier warnings.
