Butcher withdraws after Becca refuses to leave with him, telling Hughie that he is finished and going to his Aunt Judy's house. Hughie recognizes something wrong in his unusually gentle farewell and takes Mother's Milk to find him. Black Noir has followed Butcher, trapping them at the house. Judy gives Hughie a glimpse of Butcher's brother Lenny, whose resemblance helps explain why Butcher's harsh treatment of Hughie can sit beside a protective attachment.
The Seven are occupied with filming their superhero movie, but the publicity cannot contain Homelander's problems. Footage of him killing a civilian creates protests, and his appearance before an angry crowd makes matters worse. Stormfront offers a more effective online response. Annie searches Stormfront's trailer and finds correspondence about Sage Grove, then confronts her with the Liberty connection. Stormfront counters that she knows Annie exposed Compound V.
Black Noir breaks into Judy's home and overpowers the men. Butcher threatens to release information about Becca and Ryan, forcing Noir to contact Edgar. The bargain gets the attack called off and brings Butcher back to the Boys rather than allowing him to disappear alone. Maeve recruits the Deep to help obtain leverage against Homelander. Homelander accepts Stormfront's publicity assistance, and their new intimacy gives the woman Annie is investigating closer access to the most powerful member of the Seven.
