Elliot arrives at E Corp missing four days of memory and discovers that he has been fired. He also realises that Stage 2 is scheduled for that day. Staying inside the office long enough to stop it means dodging security and finding a usable terminal. He stalls employees with conversation and invented computer problems, but security eventually escorts him out. Outside, anti-corporate demonstrators gather as he tries to warn authorities about the threatened recovery building.
Darlene tells Elliot that she has been working with the FBI and that Angela has been helping Mr. Robot. Her confession gives him an explanation for the missing days, but leaves him with very little time to respond. The demonstration becomes a riot and protesters force their way into E Corp headquarters. Irving contacts Angela with instructions for an operation that was supposed to use Elliot: copying security data required to move Stage 2 forward.
Angela undertakes the task herself, navigating the building while staff flee and protesters smash their way through it. She draws rioters towards a security guard who threatens to expose her and uses the resulting violence to continue. After reaching the secure room and obtaining the data, she passes it to a Dark Army contact. Elliot finally finds her amid the wreckage and asks what she needs to tell him. His struggle to stop the attack has brought him directly to the friend helping it proceed.
