Loki returns to a changed TVA, where uncontrolled time slipping throws him between eras. With Mobius, B-15 and technician Ouroboros, he learns the branching timelines overwhelm the Loom. They find Sylvie and learn General Dox's reset charges have already destroyed many branches. Loki, Mobius and Sylvie capture Dox, though some loyalists escape. The TVA recruits inventor Victor Timely, a variant of He Who Remains, to repair the Loom.
Timely and Ouroboros build a Throughput Multiplier, but Timely is spaghettified before using it and the Loom explodes. Loki survives, gathers friends from branches where they have returned to ordinary lives, and repeatedly tries to reach the moments before disaster. After centuries studying physics and mechanics, he brings the multiplier to an earlier attempt, but the Loom still cannot contain infinite branches. He Who Remains explains it would erase every branch except the Sacred Timeline, and offers Loki a choice: preserve that system by killing Sylvie.
Loki rejects that choice and decides to save the branches themselves. He opens the blast doors, walks onto the gangway, breaks the Loom and gathers the dying timelines, restoring them with his magic. At the End of Time, he arranges the branches into a living tree and takes the throne alone to sustain them. The TVA changes its purpose to monitor He Who Remains' variants and protect the branches. B-15 becomes one of its leaders, while Mobius leaves to see the family he had on his former timeline. Sylvie watches him go as Loki remains at the tree's center.
