Kim Shin and the Grim Reaper stop the car carrying Eun-tak and her kidnappers. Shin cuts the vehicle apart, while the Reaper keeps her safe and changes the criminals' memories. Eun-tak struggles to understand why a rescuer would bring death along with him, but Shin takes her for food and explains that he heard her desperate wish. Her aunt's debt has brought supernatural help directly into her ordinary troubles.
Shin learns more about the relatives who have been exploiting Eun-tak and leaves gold bars for them to fight over. At the chicken restaurant, Sunny discovers that Eun-tak has been sleeping there and gives her the wages she has earned. Eun-tak also recovers the maple leaf she meant to give Shin, finding Deok-hwa with the book in which she had hidden it after their argument.
Although Shin plans to leave, neither he nor Eun-tak finds it easy to stop thinking about the other. They meet again when she accidentally summons him while cooking, then part by the sea under his umbrella. She gives him the leaf and realizes he is saying goodbye. Eun-tak later comes to his house and asks him to stay, finally pointing to the sword that he believed she could not see.
