Kim Shin confronts the Grim Reaper as Wang Yeo, unable to reconcile his friend with the king who killed his family. He leaves their home, staying with Deok-hwa while Eun-tak goes to Sunny. Park Joong-heon threatens Sunny again, and Eun-tak's protective mark repels him, but the mark is fading. The Reaper, meanwhile, faces investigators over his repeated use of supernatural powers for personal reasons.
As punishment, the Reaper's memories return. He remembers the king's grief, the poisoned medicine he knowingly drank and the people he failed to protect. Shin refuses his plea to kill him, but asks him to protect Sunny. A new notice warns that Eun-tak's death is approaching. Shin takes her away for a few happy days together before preparing to confront the spirit that has survived for centuries.
With Eun-tak's mark gone, Park possesses her and reaches for Shin's sword. The Reaper calls the spirit's name and draws it out of her body. Shin uses Eun-tak's hand to pull the blade free, then destroys Park with it. The victory also ends Shin's life as a goblin in the world. Eun-tak holds him while he promises to come as rain and snow, and he dissolves from her arms.
