Emmit admits to Gloria that he manipulated Ray into taking the Corvette while he kept their father's stamps. He also describes the argument that killed Ray, blaming himself for years of mistreatment as well as the fatal accident. Varga counters the confession with more killings. Meemo murders other men named Stussy, and a hired suspect, Donny Woo, claims responsibility for those deaths and for Ray and Ennis.
Nikki and Mr. Wrench seize Varga's truck after distracting Meemo with a fake grenade. They obtain financial records, and Nikki demands $2 million from Varga. At their hotel meeting she refuses his tea and rejects an offer to work for him. Wrench holds Meemo at gunpoint, removing Varga's immediate protection. Nikki gives Varga a day to pay or she will expose his accounts to the IRS.
Dammik accepts Woo's confession and orders Emmit freed despite Gloria's objections. Emmit will not identify Varga, and Gloria has to release him into the man's waiting car. After her investigation has been brushed aside again, she meets Winnie at a bar and admits how disconnected she feels. Winnie's reassurance and a hug comfort her; afterwards an automatic soap dispenser finally responds to her hand. Meanwhile, Dollard returns to his office and finds an envelope containing a USB drive and Stussy Lots' financial records.
