Walt asks Jack to kill Jesse, but Jack will only do it if Walt teaches Todd to cook his blue meth. Walt reluctantly agrees. Jesse proposes using Walt’s money to catch him. Hank tricks Huell into talking by making him believe Walt plans to kill him, and learns that Walt stored his fortune in barrels before collecting them in a rental van. Huell knows Walt used a shovel but cannot say where he buried the money. Jesse then sends Walt a photograph of a barrel and threatens to burn the fortune unless Walt comes to the desert. Walt drives out, believing his money is at risk.
Walt admits poisoning Brock but says he ensured the boy survived, and claims his murders were meant to protect Jesse. At the site, Walt sees Jesse approaching and summons Jack’s gang. He cancels when he recognises Hank and Gomez with Jesse, but the gang ignores him. The barrel photograph was a decoy to make Walt lead the agents to his money. Hank cuffs Walt and reads him his rights. Jesse spits on Walt, who attacks him; Hank and Gomez intervene. Hank puts Walt in the back of Gomez’s SUV while Jesse is escorted to Walt’s car. Hank calls Marie to say he has caught Walt. Before either car can leave, Jack’s gang arrives from the desert and opens fire. Walt and Jesse take cover in their parked cars as the gunfight begins.
