A flashback returns to Walt and Jesse’s first cook, when a pregnant Skyler suggests Holly’s name. In the present, Hank is wounded and Gomez is dead after the desert shootout. Walt offers Jack his entire fortune if he will spare Hank, but Hank tells Walt that Jack has already made his decision. Jack shoots Hank, and Walt collapses. The gang takes Walt’s money, leaves him one barrel, and buries Hank and Gomez there. Walt finds Jesse hiding nearby and tells Jack to kill him. Todd instead argues they should question Jesse about what he told the agents, and Walt agrees, spitefully telling Jesse he watched Jane die.
Walt’s car runs out of fuel, forcing him to roll the barrel through the desert and buy a truck. Marie tells Skyler that Hank has arrested Walt, so Skyler finally tells Walter Jr. about the meth business; he blames her for going along with it. Walt returns home and tries to make Skyler and Walter Jr. leave with him. When she realizes Hank is dead, Skyler attacks him with a knife. Walter Jr. intervenes and calls the police, and Walt flees with Holly. Knowing police are listening, Walt phones Skyler, berates her and says he built the drug business alone, trying to shield her from prosecution. He then leaves Holly at a fire station. The next morning, Ed, Saul’s identity broker, drives Walt away with the remaining barrel.
