Jimmy and Kim marry in a civil ceremony, allowing him to discuss his cases with her under spousal privilege. Lalo, charged with Fred Whalen’s murder as Jorge de Guzmán, asks Jimmy to obtain bail and promises cartel friendship in return. Jimmy tells Kim about the assignment. After their failed Mesa Verde settlement, Kim and Rich apologize to Kevin. She then confronts him for repeatedly ignoring their advice, securing his continued business. Meanwhile, Mike reconnects with Stacey and Kaylee, telling Stacey that he has moved past the anger that disturbed their relationship.
Lalo orders Nacho to destroy one of Gus’s restaurants. Gus cooperates with Nacho in burning the Los Lunas location, preserving Nacho’s cover. Gus also reassures his anxious Madrigal partner that he is handling Lalo’s interference with the lab. Wanting Lalo released, Mike supplies Jimmy with information exposing weaknesses in the murder investigation. Jimmy challenges the police evidence, and the judge sets seven-million-dollar cash bail, which Lalo says he can pay. Howard again asks about his employment offer, then withdraws it after recognizing Jimmy’s harassment. Jimmy blames him for Chuck’s death and explodes into a declaration that Saul Goodman has outgrown anything a position at Howard’s law firm could possibly offer him.
