Wexler v. Goodman

Contains spoilers for Better Call Saul season 5 episode 6 and earlier episodes.

A flashback shows teenage Kim refusing to ride home with her intoxicated mother. In the present, Kim offers Everett Acker a settlement and personally makes up the difference to reach $75,000. Jimmy reluctantly agrees, but later uses a staged class-action video and a threat over Mesa Verde’s logo to force Kevin to let Acker keep his home. The settlement ends the eviction fight, though Kim is furious that Jimmy made her the unwitting face of his con.

Nacho tells Gus that Lalo plans to expose the locations of Gus’s street dealers to police. Gus orders that only low-level workers be arrested, then puts Nacho under Mike’s supervision. Mike feeds police information about Lalo’s car and Fred Whalen’s murder, and uses Nacho’s tip to help them detain Lalo. The move puts Lalo in custody while leaving Nacho trapped between Gus and the Salamancas.

After the settlement, Jimmy expects Kim to celebrate, but she says the con has damaged her trust in him. She tells him they must either end their relationship or get married, giving him a direct choice. Mike’s information has helped place Lalo in jail, and Nacho warns Mike that Gus is ruthless. The episode closes with Kim asking for marriage as the condition for staying with Jimmy.
