Jimmy agrees to collect Lalo’s seven-million-dollar bail for a hundred-thousand-dollar fee. Kim begs him to reconsider, but he treats it as a straightforward drive. The Cousins hand him the cash at a remote desert site. On his return, gunmen block the road, take the money and prepare to kill him. Mike, secretly following for Gus, shoots them, though one escapes. With Mike’s vehicle disabled, they use Jimmy’s car until it breaks down too. They push it off the road and begin walking across country with the cash, avoiding the route where the surviving attacker may find them.
Overnight, Mike learns that Kim knows about Lalo and warns that this draws her into the danger. With Jimmy missing, Kim visits Lalo in jail, revealing that she is Jimmy’s wife and asking where to search. Lalo refuses to identify the pickup site, insisting Jimmy can survive. In the desert, Jimmy becomes severely dehydrated and exhausted. When Mike spots the remaining gunman driving nearby, Jimmy deliberately steps onto the road as bait rather than hiding. Mike kills the approaching driver, but the vehicle overturns and becomes unusable. Their pursuer is gone, yet they must continue carrying the money on foot through the heat.
