Jack Bauer follows the taxi lead into Queens and pays a teenager for the address where Davros went. Inside the house, Jack finds police officer Jim Koernig and his wife dead. Responding officers catch Jack at the scene, and John Mazoni assumes he killed his colleague. Mazoni restrains and beats him instead of checking his account. His younger partner, Phillip Lu, becomes increasingly uncomfortable with the assault and the refusal to report their arrest.
At CTU, Meredith Reed admits that she is having an affair with President Hassan, explaining her access to his residence. Farhad urges Hassan to deny the relationship, but Hassan confirms it to Hastings. Chloe still cannot persuade Hastings to help Jack. Dana also faces Kevin Wade at CTU and gives him the keys to her apartment after he threatens to expose her former identity and destroy her career.
Jack breaks free long enough to get Lu to check Koernig's assignment. The dead officer was due on the United Nations security detail, and someone called Mike Farmer has replaced him. Meanwhile, decrypted files on Reed's computer suggest a bomb beneath the negotiating chamber. Hastings orders an evacuation despite Chloe's doubts. Jack calls Cole Ortiz to warn that the evacuation is the trap. Cole drives into Hassan's path as the motorcade reaches the road and an explosion strikes.
