Approach and preparation
Ruin Sentinels sit in the Lost Bastille on the high-spec Scholar route. The nearest useful checkpoints are The Tower Apart if you arrived through the Pursuer route and McDuff’s Workshop after you have opened that Bastille path. From either route, use the long cell corridor and its final gate as the landmark for the fog approach. It is not a shortcut: its enemies respawn, so either run past with stamina saved or clear them again deliberately. Pilgrim Bellclaire’s sign is in a cell along that approach, and Scholar also places Felicia the Brave near the exploding barrels and gate before the fog if you want help.
Use the opening platform
The arena gives you one Sentinel, Yahim, on the opening platform while Alessia and Ricce wait below. Stay on that platform. Let Yahim finish a weapon string, hit it once or twice, and move far enough from the edge that a shield throw, running leap, or wide swing cannot knock you into the full group. The first kill is the part that decides whether this becomes a controlled fight or a three-enemy scramble.
After Yahim falls, one of the remaining Sentinels may jump up to meet you. Use that delay. A jump-down slash, a broad horizontal swing, and the thrown shield all demand a different answer, but each leaves a short recovery when it misses. Circle the platform, wait for one of those commits, punish once, and stop. When the second Sentinel gets too close or the third climbs up, drop to the floor only after you know where both are. Dropping early wastes the one advantage the room offers.
On the ground, run the outer wall rather than trying to stand between the Sentinels. The goal is to make one chase ahead of the others. When it uses the long leap or finishes a wide sequence, turn into its side for a short punish, then move around the room again. A shield can save you from one hit, but holding it through overlapping attacks drains the stamina you need to escape. There is no new health-bar phase; the real transition is the moment the remaining two can attack together, so slowing the fight down is the response.
Reward and next step
Victory gives the Ruin Sentinel Soul. Keep it if a sorcery build may want to trade it to Straid of Olaphis for Heavy Homing Soul Arrow. The win also opens the clean Scholar route to Servants’ Quarters, where the Bastille Key is waiting after the boss. Take that key before Lost Sinner: it does not make the Sinner weaker, but it makes the arena and its lock-on far easier to read.
