The Hidden Oracle
After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus.
About
The Hidden Oracle is a 2016 children's fantasy adventure by the American author Rick Riordan, based on Greco-Roman classical mythology. It was published on 3 May 2016 and is the first book in The Trials of Apollo series, the second spin-off from Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
The punishment is the premise. Apollo is made human and thrown down to New York as a teenager, which strips him of his powers and forces him to manage a body and a city he does not understand. He needs help, and the only community he can think of is the enclave of modern demigods at Camp Half-Blood, so the book places an ancient god inside the arrangement that the earlier series had established.
His enemies extend beyond the gods. Monsters and mortals would also prefer him permanently destroyed, which means the camp is a refuge with its own dangers rather than a solution. The novel has been published in hardcover, audiobook, e-book and large-print editions and translated into nineteen languages from the original English, which reflects the scale of the readership the earlier series had built.
