The Burning Maze
Apollo is still serving his sentence as a mortal teenager called Lester, with a demigod daughter of Demeter assigned to keep him company, and he still has to restore five dark oracles before he can go home.
About
The Burning Maze is a fantasy novel by the American writer Rick Riordan, published on 1 May 2018 and the third book of The Trials of Apollo.
Zeus turned Apollo into a mortal teenager called Lester Papadopoulos as a punishment, and the way back to Olympus runs through five oracles that have stopped working. Lester has to restore them without any of the powers he used to have, and he is obliged to travel with Meg, a young daughter of Demeter whose company he did not choose. The first two trials took him to Camp Half-Blood and to Indianapolis, where Meg delivered a prophecy revealing that three Roman emperors intend to attack Camp Jupiter. This volume takes the pair into the Labyrinth to find the third of the emperors and an oracle that answers in word puzzles. Meg is twelve, and the satyr Grover Underwood travels with them into the Labyrinth, where the oracle they are looking for is the Oracle of Erythraea; the emperor they are chasing is Caligula.
It is the third of the five volumes about Apollo's time as a mortal.
