Everblaze

Everblaze is a fantasy novel by the American writer Shannon Messenger, the third book of the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, and one of the novels about Sophie Foster.

Sophie's abilities keep getting stronger, and the organisation that has been watching over her, the Black Swan, has stopped answering when she calls. She decides to go after the people who kidnapped her before they come for her again. The mistake she makes while doing it leaves her world close to war, and plenty of people conclude that she has gone too far this time. The more she investigates, the larger the conspiracy around her turns out to be, and the danger she is looking for turns out to be closer to her than she has allowed herself to think. It is the third and the longest of the first three books, and the rebellion it unleashes is what Sophie has to put out before it takes everything she cares about; the enemy closest to her turns out to be more dangerous than the ones she is looking for.
