About ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights

After a deadly rain turns the kingdom of Land’s End into a landscape of Blighted creatures, Lily awakens in a ruined church with a duty to purify the curse. She cannot fight directly, so she calls on the spirits of fallen knights while exploring connected regions, confronting powerful foes and uncovering what happened to the kingdom.

ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights begins after an unnatural rain has transformed the people and creatures of Land’s End into the Blighted, leaving the kingdom in ruin. Lily wakes in the depths of a church, one of the few traces of shelter in a landscape overtaken by the curse. She is a White Priestess, able to perform a rite of Purification, and the journey places that ability at the centre of the kingdom’s survival. The story is framed as an effort to understand the Rain of Death and the devastation it caused. Rather than introducing a large party of living companions, the game gives Lily a connection to the spirits of knights whose souls have been corrupted. Their histories and the places they once inhabited form part of the mystery she follows through the remnants of the kingdom.

Lily is physically unable to fight for herself, so combat is carried out by the spirits she summons. The contrast between a vulnerable priestess and powerful, varied knights shapes the game’s central idea: each fallen foe can become a new way to attack and defend. Different spirits include a giant who swings a huge hammer and a headless knight capable of answering an enemy attack with a counter. Other spirits bring their own weapons, magic or accompanying beasts. Instead of giving Lily one conventional weapon set, the game lets the player call on the skills of those she has purified. Up to six spirits can be equipped and swapped during a fight, allowing their attacks to be combined into a chosen sequence. Building a useful group therefore means considering the range, timing and effects of each ability, as well as the opponent in front of Lily.

Battles ask the player to watch what enemies do and respond with attacks, evasion and movement. The Steam description specifically highlights reading opponents’ attacks and surviving encounters with former inhabitants who have gone mad. Bosses are major tests along the route, and defeating them releases them from their curse so Lily can recruit them as spirits. A boss encounter can consequently change the player’s options beyond the immediate victory: its skills may add a melee strike, a ranged attack, magic or another specialised move to Lily’s set. The game’s combat progression is tied directly to its story of purification. The defeated are not simply removed from the world; they become allies whose abilities can help Lily face later threats. Since the spirits can be switched in battle, the player can adapt the active combination rather than relying on one attack for every situation.

Land’s End is presented as a broad, interconnected kingdom that players can explore in more than one direction. Its environments include a submerged forest, a contaminated underground cavern sealed away from the surface, and a grand castle. These locations make the aftermath of the rain tangible in different ways, while the ruins and remaining traces of ordinary life invite the player to connect the catastrophe to the people it changed. Progress depends on movement skills as well as combat. Lily gains ways to dash through the air, double jump, climb walls and swing from hooks, letting her cross gaps and reach places that were previously inaccessible. As Lily gains their powers, new paths open. Exploration thus alternates between finding a route through an area and returning to earlier spaces with a movement option that changes what she can reach.

Outside the spirits themselves, Lily can improve their abilities and equip Relics found during the journey. Blighted residue collected in Land’s End is used to enhance spirits; upgrades can change how a skill works, such as adding strikes to a melee sequence or extra projectiles to a ranged attack. Relics offer a separate layer of customisation, with effects that can help in combat or exploration. Together, these systems let players shape a build around the skills they prefer and the obstacles they expect to face. A player might give priority to a spirit whose timing suits a particular enemy, then adjust equipment to support that approach, while another combination can favour a different balance of range, mobility or utility. The choices are presented as practical changes to play, not just numerical rewards, because spirit skills can alter the actions available to Lily and relics can affect how she handles the world.

The overall journey brings these parts together: cross a ruined region, learn its routes and threats, fight its Blighted inhabitants, and purify the knights whose abilities will help Lily continue. The dark fantasy setting is paired with a musical score by Mili. The story concerns the Rain of Death, Lily’s role as a White Priestess and the transformed kingdom around her. The result is an action role-playing game built around an unusual protagonist who directs combat through the spirits she gathers. Exploration and fighting continually feed one another: new powers can make a route accessible, and a newly recruited spirit can reshape the next encounter. ENDER LILIES keeps its focus on Lily’s journey through Land’s End and the people caught in its curse, with purification serving as the link between the kingdom’s past, its enemies and the tools the player carries forward.
