Spoilers for this episode.

Liam injects Caleb with Genre during an escape attempt, leaving him to experience the pursuit through shifting cinematic moods. Dolores keeps them moving as Serac's forces close in, with Ash and Giggles joining their flight across Los Angeles. Liam's access key gives the Conells copy of Dolores a way into Rehoboam, where Bernard has been brought along to witness the next part of her plan.

Dolores orders Conells to send people their own Incite profiles. Passengers on public transport begin reading intimate assessments and predictions that have shaped their lives without their knowledge. The disclosures provoke panic and violence as the group moves through the city. Stubbs reaches Bernard, and Conells lets the two leave with a lead about Serac's facilities. When security arrives to question Conells, he detonates an explosive, killing himself and Serac's assistant Martel.

Serac's account of his past explains how he and his brother built their predictive system after the destruction of Paris. People it could not reliably predict became problems to be isolated, including his own brother. Liam's father funded the project, but Serac killed him when he threatened its continuation and made the death resemble an aircraft accident. In the present, Ash shoots Liam after seeing what the system has done. Caleb tries to save him, but Liam dies while making unsettling remarks about Caleb's past, whose fragmented images still lack a clear explanation.
