Bernard is horrified by Theresa's murder and by the discovery that his own life has been constructed. Ford orders him to erase the evidence of their relationship and promises to remove the painful memories afterward. Theresa's death is presented to the staff as an accident, while her interference with Clementine is exposed and Bernard regains his position. Before the erasure, a brief memory shows Bernard attacking Elsie, contradicting Ford's assurance that Theresa was his only victim. Charlotte continues the board's effort to remove valuable information from the park, choosing the retired Peter Abernathy as a carrier and recruiting Lee to prepare his escape.
Maeve demands changes that will let her leave safely and command other hosts. Back in Sweetwater, she experiments with directing their actions, but a memory of her daughter and the Man in Black overwhelms her. She cuts the replacement Clementine's throat and retreats as staff move to retrieve her. Teddy also begins remembering the Man in Black's violence toward Dolores. When he confronts his companion, the visitor describes his wife's death and the attack on Maeve and her daughter that led him to discover the maze. Angela, apparently a survivor they have rescued, urges Teddy to kill him. Teddy cannot do it, and Angela stabs him as Wyatt's followers surround them.
