Theresa and Charlotte arrange a demonstration meant to discredit Ford's work and secure the board's control over the hosts. Clementine is altered to make her appear dangerously violent, and Bernard loses his position when the performance is presented as evidence against his department. Maeve watches Clementine's treatment from hiding and sees what happens when the staff decide a host has become inconvenient. She tells Felix and Sylvester that she intends to leave the park and expects their help. On the train, William and Dolores become lovers, then escape an attack by the Confederados with Lawrence. Afterward, the pair leave him to follow a landscape Dolores recognizes from her dreams.
Bernard tells Theresa that he knows about the stolen information and the manipulated demonstration, but asks her to investigate Ford with him. He leads her to the cottage, where she finds a door he cannot see and a hidden laboratory below it. Inside are host designs, including a drawing of Bernard himself. Ford arrives and confirms the truth: Bernard is one of his creations, unable to recognize evidence that threatens his understanding of himself. Theresa realizes that her effort to remove Ford has brought her into a place he controls completely. Ford orders Bernard to kill her, and Bernard obeys, crushing her head against the wall.
