Wednesday wakes from her coma to find Weems serving as her new spirit guide. The former principal has advice but cannot simply restore Wednesday's psychic abilities. Judi works to conceal LOIS after the Willow Hill escape, while Tyler, Fester and Slurp remain fugitives. Wednesday tries to send Enid away for protection, provoking her friend's anger at being treated as helpless. Miss Capri explains that a male Hyde can deteriorate without a master, and Wednesday decides that she can control Tyler herself. Using Laurel's notes, she prepares an ambush, despite warnings from Weems and Morticia. Enid revives the Nightshades so that her friends can face the danger together.
The trap fails when Tyler confronts Wednesday, but another Hyde intervenes before he can kill her. The newcomer is Françoise, Tyler's mother and the woman Wednesday helped escape from Willow Hill. Morticia has offered to reunite mother and son if they leave Jericho and spare Wednesday. Their departure ends the immediate attack without giving Wednesday the control she wanted. Elsewhere, Pugsley and Gomez trace Slurp to Pilgrim World, where the creature has become more human and can speak. Pugsley helps him escape the police, and Gomez recognises him as Isaac. Slurp later appears at Judi's home. Capri also sees Enid transform without a full moon, revealing another unexplained change among the students.
