Parents' Weekend brings Gomez and Morticia back to Nevermore while Eugene remains in a coma. Wednesday uses a family therapy session to demand answers about Garrett Gates, whose death still makes Sheriff Galpin suspicious of Gomez. The coroner's apparent suicide produces a confession to falsifying the old report, and Galpin arrests Wednesday's father. Gomez claims he killed Garrett during a fight, but Wednesday recognises that he is protecting someone. Morticia eventually admits that she struck Garrett while defending Gomez. Her description of his strange behaviour gives Wednesday another explanation to test. Mother and daughter dig up his grave and uncover evidence that he was poisoned.
A vision reveals that Garrett brought nightshade poison to Nevermore to murder its students. The vial broke during his fight with Gomez, causing Garrett's own death. Wednesday and Morticia confront Mayor Walker about the cover-up and secure Gomez's release. The case also opens a conversation about Wednesday's visions: Morticia says her darker temperament makes her a raven and that guidance must come from a dead member of their bloodline. Elsewhere, Enid rejects her mother's demand for a werewolf conversion camp, while Bianca faces pressure to return to her mother's scheme. Morticia's old yearbook helps Wednesday identify Weems as a shapeshifter. Their confrontation is interrupted by a warning burning across the school grounds.
