Wanda and Vision prepare a stage magic act for Westview's neighborhood talent show, hoping the performance will help them fit in. Their plan depends on presenting ordinary illusions while concealing their real abilities. Outside their house, Wanda discovers a brightly colored toy helicopter amid the black-and-white surroundings. Agnes interrupts her examination and takes her to a planning meeting run by Dottie. Wanda meets Geraldine there, but winning Dottie's approval proves harder than rehearsing the act.
Vision attends the neighborhood watch meeting and accepts chewing gum while trying to socialize with the men. He accidentally swallows it, and the gum interferes with his machinery. Wanda faces a different interruption while cleaning up with Dottie: a voice on the radio repeatedly calls her name and asks who is doing this to her. Dottie's glass shatters in her hand. The blood appears red, then the conversation slips back into ordinary neighborhood small talk.
Vision reaches the talent show behaving as though he is drunk. He floats and uses his strength onstage, forcing Wanda to disguise each display as a cheap trick. She makes their exposed powers seem like deliberately silly stage business, and the neighbors reward them for their comedy. Back home, Wanda suddenly appears pregnant. A noise draws the couple outside, where a beekeeper emerges from a manhole. Wanda rejects the sight and rewinds the moment. The pregnancy announcement plays again, and their home changes into color.
