Ju-kyung and her father agree to keep the embarrassing events at Su-ho's apartment quiet. At school, Su-jin tells Ju-kyung about her father's abuse and says that she likes Su-ho, making Ju-kyung afraid to reveal her own relationship. Su-jin then asks for help choosing him a present and emphasizes their long friendship. Ju-kyung seeks advice from Seo-jun without naming the people involved. The rivalry follows them to dinner with her family, where Su-ho and Seo-jun compete for approval. When Ju-kyung's modelling photographs with Seo-jun circulate around school, Su-ho objects, and she answers by questioning his closeness to Su-jin.
Su-jin visits Su-ho with her gift, but he refuses it and says he already has a girlfriend. He later asks Ju-kyung to stop hiding their relationship, although her fear of losing friends leaves the argument unresolved. At the entertainment company, Hee-kyung challenges Director Oh over a song taken from Se-yeon's work. He threatens her job, then the song is released anyway. Her confrontation exposes how the company used allegations against Se-yeon to divert attention from a photograph involving Su-ho's father. Su-ho overhears the exchange when he comes to the office. Distressed, he leaves without confronting the people inside and walks toward the road. Seo-jun tries to stop him, and both boys are struck by a car.
