Su-ho and Seo-jun are hospitalized after the collision, placing the estranged friends in the same room. Flashbacks return to the music they made with Se-yeon and the calls Su-ho ignored before his death. Su-ho confronts his father about the company using Se-yeon's scandal and stealing the song. His anger also reaches back to his mother's final illness and the betrayal he believed he witnessed then. Seo-jun hears the grief behind the accusations he has repeated for years. As Su-ho struggles under the conversation, Seo-jun tells his father that the songwriter known as Leo is Su-ho, rather than himself.
The boys begin helping each other through the awkward practical problems of recovery. Their conversation finally gives Su-ho room to explain his missed call and the guilt he has carried, while Seo-jun begins to understand what happened. News then arrives that Su-ho's father is stepping down and acknowledging the plagiarism. Meanwhile, Ju-kyung tells Su-jin that she is dating Su-ho because she no longer wants to deceive her friend. Su-jin outwardly accepts the confession but reacts differently when she sees the couple kiss at the hospital. At school, Hye-min transfers into their class, bringing Ju-kyung's former life closer. The old bullies still pressure Hye-min for information about Ju-kyung and Seo-jun.
