Ju-kyung doubts Su-ho's confession at first, afraid that his affection is another act of pity. He reassures her and gives her a necklace, while she admits how often she thinks about him. Back at camp, Su-jin sees her without makeup and helps her return to the tent unseen. Ju-kyung now has a second secret to manage: she asks Su-ho to hide their relationship because she fears the attention it would attract at school. Their first date involves hiding from classmates, but meeting makeup artist Selena gives Ju-kyung practical advice and encourages her interest in a career using her own skills.
To pay for beauty training, Ju-kyung looks for part-time work and joins Seo-jun in a modelling shoot. She tells him she is dating Su-ho, even as their photographs present them as a couple. Su-jin notices Ju-kyung's necklace and understands the relationship too. Su-ho keeps a secret of his own when he finds Ju-kyung's father penniless and lets him stay at his apartment. The man is ashamed to return home without finding the person who cheated him. Later, Su-ho takes Ju-kyung home and opens the music room connected to Se-yeon. Their quiet evening turns chaotic when her father emerges from hiding and Ju-kyung strikes him with a lamp before recognizing him.
