Christopher drives Tony home after a meeting with Phil over the disposal of asbestos waste. Christopher appears impaired and loses control while avoiding an oncoming car, sending their vehicle down an embankment. Tony escapes with minor injuries, but Christopher is badly hurt and asks for a taxi because he cannot pass a drug test. Tony starts to call for help, then looks at the damaged child seat and stops. He pinches Christopher's nose shut and kills him. Tony subsequently dreams of confessing the killing to Dr. Melfi. In his actual appointment, he discusses Christopher as a burden and resents the expectation that he should display grief.
The family mourns Christopher, while Paulie is upset that Nucci's wake receives little attendance. Tony and Carmela visit both gatherings. A.J. initially appears to be improving with treatment and returns to college classes, but his involvement with the two Jasons brings more violence. He participates in their assault on a Somali student and becomes depressed again. Tony leaves for Las Vegas, where he meets Sonya, a woman Christopher had known. They have sex and take peyote together. Tony's luck improves at roulette, and he collapses laughing as he acknowledges Christopher's death. He and Sonya later watch the sunrise in the desert, where Tony shouts that he understands, without clearly explaining what he means.
