Feech attacks gardener Sal Vitro to push him out of a neighbourhood his nephew wants to control. Paulie offers Sal protection for a share of his earnings, then attacks Feech's relatives and demands payment. Tony divides the territory at a sit-down. Sal receives only part of the business he previously held and must provide free gardening at Tony's and Johnny's homes, leaving him burdened by the men who claim to have helped him.
In New York, Phil subjects Lorraine Calluzzo to a mock execution because she pays Little Carmine rather than Johnny Sack. Tony proposes sharing leadership among Johnny, Little Carmine and Angelo, but Johnny rejects the arrangement. Another meeting fails when Christopher speaks despite Tony's instructions to remain quiet. At home, Junior repeatedly insults Tony's athletic ability during a family meal. Tony leaves angry, treating the repeated remark as deliberate cruelty rather than evidence of confusion.
Junior wanders away looking for places associated with his dead brother and is eventually brought home by police. Janice and Bobby's attempt to discuss his condition with Tony becomes a violent family argument. A doctor later explains that small strokes may account for Junior's behaviour. Tony visits him again and asks whether he loves him. Junior cannot provide an answer, and both men sit with tears in their eyes as the television continues playing.
