Missing Vespa scooters deepen Tony's dispute with Johnny, who links the issue to Tony's denial about Blundetto and Joey Peeps. Tony's men learn that Phil took the shipment. At home, Janice's assault on another mother at a soccer match brings publicity and an ultimatum from Bobby: she must address her anger or lose their marriage. She begins classes, while Tony remains increasingly explosive about his business losses, family arguments and ordinary frustrations.
Christopher and Blundetto travel to Uncle Pat's farm to remove buried bodies before the property is sold. They briefly rebuild their friendship, but Tony's arrival restores the older cousins' habit of mocking Christopher, including his sobriety. He leaves early and drives home crying. Back at the Bing, Tony beats Georgie after a remark about living for today. The assault damages Georgie's hearing, and he decides to leave the job and avoid seeing Tony again.
Janice shows signs of controlling her temper, responding calmly to irritations that once provoked her. Tony joins her household for dinner and appears unable to tolerate the change. He brings up her estranged son Harpo, making increasingly cruel remarks until she loses control. Janice chases him around the table with a fork as the family meal collapses. Tony walks out smiling, having deliberately destroyed the calm she had been trying to maintain.
