Whitecaps

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Tony offers to buy Whitecaps, a beach house whose owner, Alan Sapinsly, pushes aside an existing buyer to accept Tony's cash. Carmela is delighted until Irina telephones the Soprano home and reveals Tony's sexual encounter with Svetlana. Carmela throws his possessions outside and demands that he leave. Their arguments grow violent, and she eventually admits her feelings for Furio. Tony punches the wall beside her instead of striking her. He briefly tries living in the home theater before deciding to move out completely, saying goodbye to the children. A telephone call to Melfi ends before he speaks, leaving the separation unresolved between him and Carmela.

The stalled Esplanade business initially leads Tony to agree to Johnny Sack's plan to kill Carmine. Christopher returns from rehabilitation and hires two men for the job. Carmine then offers a settlement of the housing dispute at fifteen percent, and Tony cancels the assassination despite Johnny's objections. Tony orders Christopher to have the hired killers silenced, while Johnny angrily receives the cancellation. Junior's trial ends in a mistrial after the juror intimidation. Tony also attempts to withdraw from buying Whitecaps, but Sapinsly insists on keeping the deposit. Benny and Little Paulie install speakers on Tony's boat and blast music toward Sapinsly's home. The noise continues into the evening, prompting Sapinsly's wife to demand that he return Tony's money.
