Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

The final season opens with Dan-tae and Seo-jin imprisoned and Su-ryeon trying to undo their damage. Logan’s car bombing appears fatal, but he eventually returns alive. Su-ryeon builds a case against Dan-tae while the younger residents try to escape the adults’ feud. She discovers Seok-kyung is her biological daughter and Seol-ah’s twin. Near a cliff, Yoon-hee protects Eun-byeol from Dan-tae. Seo-jin rescues her daughter, then pushes Yoon-hee over the edge, killing her. Evidence later exposes Seo-jin’s role.

At Su-ryeon and Logan’s engagement celebration, Dan-tae threatens to destroy Hera Palace. Su-ryeon shoots him in the head; as he falls, he triggers the explosives and the building collapses. Logan rescues Su-ryeon. Yoon-cheol, who has survived his earlier injuries but lost his eyesight, confronts Seo-jin after discovering her amnesia is an act. She throws him from a building, killing him. Su-ryeon and Logan then work with Eun-byeol to expose her mother. Their confrontation ends with Su-ryeon falling into the water. Eun-byeol testifies in court, where she attempts suicide by cutting her throat; she survives, but loses her singing voice. Seo-jin receives a life sentence.

Three years later, Ro-na is an acclaimed soprano and reconnects with Seok-hoon. Seo-jin, diagnosed with laryngeal cancer, receives leave to visit Eun-byeol, now directing a choir. Unable to face her daughter, she dies by suicide at a motel. The finale revisits Su-ryeon’s fall, revealing that she chose not to wear the life jacket Logan prepared and deliberately died to secure Seo-jin’s imprisonment. Logan’s cancer relapsed after losing her, and he too has died. Their apparent return gives way to an afterlife reunion, confirming that neither survived the final revenge.
