Season 6

Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

Jim becomes Scranton’s co-manager, learning that good intentions do not make unpopular raise decisions easier. He and Pam travel to Niagara Falls for their wedding while trying to keep her pregnancy quiet; after plans unravel, they slip away and marry privately before the ceremony. Their family grows again when Pam gives birth to Cece. At the office, Michael starts dating Helene, Pam’s mother, and the relationship ends when he breaks up with her at her birthday lunch. Pam’s anger forces Michael to face the effect his choices have on people close to her.

Dunder Mifflin’s financial troubles lead to a takeover by Sabre, whose CEO Jo Bennett brings new rules and a corporate liaison, Gabe. Michael resists the sales-focused culture, while Jim gives up the co-manager title and returns to sales after learning it pays better. Sabre’s emphasis on sales inflates the salespeople’s egos, and Michael hides their new leads to push back. Andy and Erin grow closer, but Michael tells Erin about Andy’s former engagement to Angela, which Andy had kept from her, upsetting their relationship. Dwight also agrees to Angela’s procreation contract, though their relationship remains unsettled.

Michael dates Donna, a restaurant manager, and continues seeing her after learning she is married before finally ending the affair. Sabre's printers begin catching fire, and Jo arrives to investigate the leak to the press. Pam, Darryl and Kelly each admit sharing the news, while the IT technician exposes Andy's video and message to a newspaper. Michael protects his colleagues and records a public apology for Jo. When she offers to help him in return, he asks about bringing Holly back to Scranton, and she agrees to look into it.
